Q: How do I find my group?

A: There was some initial confusion with grouping, but we now have an entire system in place for assigning you a group. Please visit the Group Instruction Page to find out how to get to your assigned group.

Q:I’m unclear whether your MOOC is to be a virtual class you attend at a specific time each week or is it a type of self-paced class? 

A: The course is 99% able to be completed on your own time. The course content will be released weekly, and though all the assignments have deadlines – the work can be completed on whatever time you can give to them. And while the assignments do have deadlines there is no penalty for missing them, other than the fact that not keeping up with your assignments means you will (probably) not receive the same level of feedback from fellow participants in the course because they will be ahead of you. 

The 1% of the course that is in real time, isn’t necessarily so. Weekly there will be google hangouts on air with comic industry professionals that are speaking on questions submitted from the participating students in the course. These will be live, but will also be recorded as youtube videos and as mp3 podcasts.

Q: I saw that you guys are holding  a free online course soon and was Thrilled about joining until I found out that I needed a google account. I don’t have one. I have an outlook account. Am I going to have to create a google account to register for this course, or can I do it some other way? 

Due to the fact that a lot of the tools we are using rely on Google+ (Google+ Communities, Google Drive, etc.) we need to require all of our student have a Gmail account in order to participate.
